Who Needs the Zoo??

BEWARE, I am not a National Geographic Photographer...

Today was the most incredible wildlife experience I have ever had in my own back yard. Justin and I were looking out the window in the morning admiring the beautiful trees and landscape that we have from the Master bedroom. Then I noticed, that there were BEAR CUBS climbing up and down the trees!! We watched them for over 2o minutes and it was so amazing to watch them climb.. They are FAST.

As we were getting ready to walk out the door, I told Justin, that I am glad they weren't inside the fence. Seriously, 5 minutes later this is what we saw... Mom, and her 3 cubs coming to play with the kids toys. I am still in a little shock that it happened, but amazed at the same time.

These pictures are from the sliding glass door. CRAZY!!!

Oh my gosh!!! I don't know if I would be amazed or terrified! From where I am it's amazing but I can see how it would be unnerving to have bears in your backyard. Did the boys see it? That's so neat - I'm glad you got pictures!

Okay, I thought my deer encounter last week was freaky, but that is AMAZING! Are you ever going out there again?!

Wow, that is awesome! (watching from inside of course :) I've seen bear while out camping, but definitely not in my backyard. Fun story to remember. Maybe it will even happen again!

Frankly that is really cool but also really scary! Yikes. Don't get eaten by Bears you guys. Those cubs are so cute though.

Just so you know, you are supposed to play dead if you encounter a bear. Have the boys practice it.

Holy cow! Who would have ever guessed? I think I'd be counting my blessing that I was inside the house!

I have goosebumps everywhere, and a cold shiver that just penetrated my whole body. That's amazing! I'm not sure if I would have been more terrified or amazed. Three cubs, eh? WOW. I'm so glad you documented this, but didn't make the bear mad when you were. Thanks for sharing.

How awesome! I totally wish I was there with you to see it. Sure, it's scary that they are in your backyard, but really, how cool is that!!!! I've always wanted to see a bear in the wild. Maybe they'll reappear when we come visit you next year...BTW, when are you guys coming here again?

What an experience! For your sake though, I hope it doesn't repeat too often . . .

That is crazy insane! (I'm a bit slow on getting to this post, sorry)

I'm glad you were all inside when the bears decided to come out and play. I think you did a great job with the pictures. You should be a NG photographer!
