This weekend

This weekend we took our adventures to a southern coastal town, and on the way we had to stop at one of the best donut shops around. They make everything fresh! When we got there, the cheap side of me wanted to get the kids day-old-donuts because they won't notice right? As long as there is chocolate and sprinkles... WRONG. Brayden refused to eat it. They definately don't get donuts often especially with a mom who is a dietitian and a dad who is a dentist. We couldn't understand, so we tried an experiment and bought him a donut that was fresh.. same thing chocolate with sprinkles. He ate the second one so fast, and refused to share. It was a 180, and we laughed the rest of the day about it.

We went to check out some of the old boats on the port. They brought in some boats that were old and taught you how they used to do things on these boats. The kids loved it.

Next stop.. the coast. I am so excited for Whale migration. This next week is peak whale migration. We have about 12,000 whales that go up the coast, and I fully intend to see some. We went to a famous look out, but the winds were up, and it was too hard to see with all the white caps on the ocean. Based on the amount of binoculars we saw, and the volume of cars... we were not the only ones on the look out for whales. Maybe next time.

The final stop.. the MALL. Okay, I have fallen in love with the small town, the slow pace of life, but really I am not going to lie... I miss the mall. I miss the variety of shops, and the selections. I have never classified myself as a shopper, and really I am not, but it is hard being 1 hour from your closest mall. I also find myself missing my bargain hunting. I guess one good part of it is that I have never been so good at staying on budget. :)
