You know you live in a small town when...

* people don't need to trick-or-treat the neighborhoods because the local merchants on Main street have trick-or -treating and that is enough for your small children.
* the fire department does an annual GREAT PUMPKIN GIVE-AWAY, and gives every child in town under the age of 18 a pumpkin for free. Oh, and while you are there how about a bag of candy, games, prizes and a free hotdog.
*The local churches put on a HUGE halloween carnival. Larger than anything you ever went to as a child, and all the games and activities are free along with dinner and TONS of candy.
* You go to Papa Murphys for the free pizza for kids (only ones in the store), and then go to Taco Bell for the free tacos because they are so close together, and very little traffic, and people.
* When you go trick-or-treating you have to be careful where you go because of bears, but it is crazy to hear the ocean as you trick-or-treat.
* The high school puts on a fun run 5K for Halloween and almost every family participating won a prize. (we got a gift certificate to NIKE!!)- Oh and jogging strollers are encouraged?
* The kicker- a lady stopped me and said "Erin Linton, I didn't put two and two together the otherday when I saw you. I am so sorry." Me: "Excuse me? " Literally did not recognize her at all. Her: "Oh, I am sorry, I am Dr...... I am sorry I was sick for your kids check up the other day and had to reschedule your appointment."
HOLY COW!!! When have you ever had your DR. recognize you on the street, and appologize for being sick for your appointment!! Last time we saw her was last year, for their wellness visit.

Well, we have truely loved small town living, and these are a few of the fun perks. I think this also identifies how cheap we are...

"Frugal" is a better term I'd say. Ain't nothin' wrong with that!

Yep. We're so darn lucky to be here...We had a lady in our neighborhood call us to apologize for not being prepared last year when we trick-or-treated at her house--and let us know that THIS year she'd be ready for us. So nice...

My personal favorite: the doctor apologizing to you. I need something like that!

I think I'd like living in a place like that for a change!
